SCATTERDAY HOPSCOTCH

In reply to the comments asking if that is really the Other Half playing Hopscotch....

YES! It is is indeed Himself!

There is a primary school within a very short walk of our house and we went down there last Sunday in the search of a hopscotch.

We had just about walked the entire grounds and were contemplating having to look further afield and rounded a corner and there they were!

I grew up in Warwick, Queensland in the late 1960s and I remember Grade 3 as a the Year of Hopscotch! It didn't come ready painted for us. We had to draw it out in the dirt ourselves. It was always exciting if it rained overnight because it was so much easier to mark out the squares in the soil using a big stick. On such occasions where the drawing was easier, we made the squares larger than normal. We must have all been very good at long jump and balancing!!
