WINTER IN BRISBANE IS....

Winter in Brisbane is clear clear sunny days with cloudless blue skies.

It is a great time to go exploring and to see SE Qld at its best.
Today is such a day and we set off over the Gateway Bridge towards Moreton Bay. Shorncliffe, 16 km NE of Brisbane CBD is a little village that sits high over the water.
It is also home to the quilt shop Faeries in my Garden. Full of "pretties" and Lesley's own designs, it is a lovely stop if out for a drive.
Lesley is friendly and helpful but also gives you your own thinking space if that is preferred.
The shop will be at the forthcoming quilt show that opens in Melbourne this Thursday.
I went with a specific idea in mind and with Lesley's knowledge of her stock have come home with the beginnings of a new project.

After visiting the shop, we wandered down to the foreshore which has been significantly rejuvenated and refurbished. BBQS, pavilions, tables shaded by mature trees, the esplanade is a very pleasant place to while away time. One can sit and contemplate life or wander out along the pier and watch the fortunes of locals fishing.
