What's on .....

my cutting table?
An UFO! I'm making the quilt where the cutter is pointing. It was a challenge to myself to make it from fabric in my stash in Brisbane - some of which had been in storage for 4 years and to use a pattern in my collection as well. And I've always had a soft spot for 9 patches and stars! This UFO that dates from either 2006 or 2007. I know I started it at the first place we lived in Brisbane. Seeing it now takes me back to that sewing room - my own space. But not a pleasant space in a Qld Summer. It faced west and got all the afternoon heat with no cooling.

We've moved twice since I started this project but I was pleased to find today that I have made all the 9 patch blocks and cut most of the backgrounds for the snowball blocks. This FQ has been in my stash a loonnggg time but it was just what I needed for the rest of the snowball blocks.

On my design wall

I love having a design wall! Need to get something organised for the southern sewing space. My very wonderful DH rigged this up for me. Flannel back of a plastic table cloth attached to the rotiserie rod from a BBQ we left in America ( Don't ask...but obviously everything comes in handy eventually!!)

These are the 9 patches from the above UFO. It was so good to find them already finished!

In my chair?

Waiting to sleep on the finished quilt!
