ATTEMPTING TO KEEP TRACK OF THE DAYS...
One of my favourite things about the start of a new year is buying a new calendar. When I was a child growing up in Queensland, at the end of each year, local businesses used to give regular customers a calendar. They were printed on a large sheet of glossy card with one large picture and the months were ripped off as they passed. I remember always being excited to see what the picture (sometimes they were a local scene and sometimes it was a young girl with a calf) was and then looking to see on what day of the week my birthday would fall.
I still like calendars and of course, these days they are a lot more varied and sophiscated. Nowadays I don't buy a calendar until the 50% off signs go up. This is what we'll be having in our house this year....his and hers!
