OPAM ..ONE PROJECT A MONTH
We've been gone a while but we have been busy. The chocolate cat, Indiana, turned 12 last week and we know that our time with him is precious.  And yes, we (Indiana and I) have finished another UFO. And like several of my quilts, this one has also literally clocked up a few kilometres.

It started as a kit from the local quilt shop a few years ago...will have to check just how many. I had the main body of the quilt made for a long while and the delay started when I used the red as the first border. It was supposed to be the binding! The border fabric that was supplied was also a lovely burgundy and that's when the delay started as I ummed and ahhed about what to do.

After a reasonable ( translate that to a long ) think time, I managed to decide on the green.  After another little "rest", it was quilted in Macedon and then there was another long delay while I tried to find a suitable burgundy for the binding.

It might still be waiting for its binding if my friend Helen who lives in Canberra hadn't offered to attach a binding to a quilt for me.  So the quilt went on a road  trip to Canberra to stay with her while she found the perfect colour and attached to move it closer to starting the next chapter in its life.

A few weeks later, Helen delivered it back to Victoria and now the final stitches are sewn.  Interestingly while it was on holiday in Canberra, Helen's cat developed a fascination with it and whenever the quilt was out, her cat would immediately sit on it. When the quilt came home and made its first appearance, Indiana appeared out of nowhere and sat on it. Sewing the binding has been a slow process as a furry chocolate face has always been close to the needle!
