It's another hot day in Melbourne. We headed into the city earlier as my car is getting its first service.
Docklands Subaru offer a courtesy bus into the city so it's usually a relaxing day out for DH and myself.
Although knowing it was going to be so hot, we decided to complete the couple of errands we had and get out of there.
As we both like books and magazines,we had a browse in Dymocks in Collins St and then went on our errands. This Dymocks had an interesting collection of quilt book titles including several by Kaffe Fassett. One that caught my eye was Bundles of Fun by Karen Snyder and another one by Barbara Chainey which was also about using fat quarters. FQ were in the forefront of my mind this morning after having spent time looking through my stash last night. Will 2008 be the year of using up some of those FQs???
The David Jones Department store in Bourke St is one of those lovely old big buildings and it is always enjoyable to stroll, browsing but not today. The cooling did not seem to be working well and it was quite warm. Still had a look and picked up a couple of "bargains"!

Onto Melbourne Central and another favourite destination, Borders! We fell in love with Borders when we lived in Seattle and it's like "going home" when we're in there. Except the one we visited in Seattle was right next to a supersized Joanns !!

On the way home, we stopped at an Officeworks store. I am sorting through magazines and putting into plastic pockets, things I want to keep. I would like to reclaim some shelf space from storing magazines!
Outside it was 36 degrees and after getting home, cooling down and having a late lunch, we have packed up Christmas. As part of the display this year, we emptied out a small meat safe and displayed my collection of Christmas china. I was very very good this season and didn't add to it!
