Scatterday N
Little Things, Human, Mineral
The little Nose was easy. Indiana has the cutest little Nose of any cat. A lovely chocolate colour and always finding its way into things. Especially mischief! The rest had us scratching our heads for a while, and then it came to me as I was having may Nails done at the the salon, preparing for our Easter Break. So here's our picture of his 'n' hers toe Nails.
Nickel immediately comes to mind as a mineral. It was once used widely in zippers, but alas, all of ours are now plastic or copper alloy. We then thought of the US 5c piece. A Nickel, made from Nickel. As a result of our adventures to the USA we used to have a lot of them. In fact they were once to be found in every drawer and in the seams and lining of every suitcase we owned, along with dimes and pennies and quarters. But as luck would have it, just two weeks ago the DH scoured the apartment of all foreign coins, piled them into an enormous plastic bag and gave the lot to Qantas for their UNICEF Change for Good program.
So now we are left with Australian coins. Did you know that our silver coloured coins are made from a blend of Nickel and Copper called Cupro-Nickel? This is 25% Nickel and 75% Copper. The gold coloured $1 and $2 coins are made of 92% Copper, 6% Aluminium and 2% Nickel, which is known as Aluminium Bronze, even though there is no Bronze in it. So there you go. Nickel is in the coins somewhere and was always just under your Nose. And sticking with Ns, did you know that a person who collects coins, like my DH, is called a Numatist? Another human N, right under my Nose.

Nickel, in one form or another, is figuring large in this week's Scatterday. Very pretty cat.
What a lot of brilliant research on Nickel. David and I spent forever searching through all our funny money for some Nickels and we could only find one which was very black, we weren't even sure it was a Nickel... so after a day soaked in Diet Coke we discovered it was!
It seems our many great minds are thinking alike today. Nails and nickels. Now, just checking, is Indiana's nose for the Human category??? I don't want to mention he's an animal just in case you haven't realised yet. But, he is you know.
Ohh Michelle, Indiana sees himself as superior to humans and would never consider trying to disguise himself as such. In the Little CAT-egory is where he sees his Nose, as we all know little Noses are cute.
Best nose I've seen today and if it hadn't been for Michelle's comment I wouldn't have even thought about it not fitting into the category
Brilliant research!
Love Indiana's nose best.
(You have little toes just like I do! Do people comment on yours and call them cute, too?)
I never knew coin collectors were called Numatists, how about that! And isn't your DH and kind boy to donate all the US coins to Unicef.
Ah, that nose, that cute little nose...
