Enjoying the tranquility at a quiet cove, Scarborough, Qld

Good Friday
In Australia, Good Friday is the first day of the Easter Break. Major department stores and supermarkets are closed, giving families a time to be together.
For us, it was a chance to take a drive along the coastline of Moreton Bay. The sun shone as we enjoyed the views out to the water from places like Shorncliffe, Sandgate and Scarborough.
In another era, these places were the holiday destinations for those who lived in Brisbane and further inland. Today, the area is still a favourite for Brisbanites as a picnic destination or a weekend lunch. There are numerous eating options from restaurants to pubs to fish n chips on the beach.

Back home f0r an afternoon spent on the deck catching up on some stitching and reading.
I saw this book in an airport bookshop and on arriving home, ordered it from the local library.
